The PEX-D64 is a PCI Express x1 card that adds 32 digital inputs and 32 digital outputs to a PC, all operating at 5 V/TTL levels. The I/O is organised as two 16-bit input ports and two 16-bit output ports, so it suits engineers who need a large number of simple logic signals on a single slot.
Six 16-bit timer/counter channels, clocked from an internal 4 MHz reference, add timing capability. Three channels are general purpose for frequency measurement, event counting and pulse generation, while the other three are dedicated to interrupt functions. A 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify each board when two or more PEX-D64 cards are installed in one computer.
Driver support covers Linux, DOS and Windows, with a DLL and ActiveX control. Sample programs are provided for Turbo C++, Borland C++, Microsoft Visual C++, Borland Delphi, Borland C++ Builder, Visual Basic, C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET and LabVIEW, which helps shorten application development.
