The PEX-P8R8i is a PCI Express x1 digital I/O board that combines eight photocoupler-isolated digital inputs with eight relay outputs on one card. Each input is isolated to 3750 Vrms and can be floated, which helps prevent ground loops between field wiring and the host PC.Engineers moving from the PISO-P16R16U will find it a direct swap, as no changes to the software or driver are required. The inputs accept AC or DC signals from 5 to 24 V and offer a selectable DC signal filter. The relays, configured as four SPDT and four SPST contacts, suit switching external devices, driving small power switches or activating alarms.The order includes one CA-4002 D-Sub connector for the female DB37 port. A 4-bit Card ID set by an SMD switch allows individual boards to be identified in a multi-card system. The PISO-P32C32U is a universal PCI card that adds 32 optically isolated digital inputs and 32 open collector sink (NPN) digital outputs to a host PC. The channels are arranged in four isolated banks, so the board suits designs where field wiring must be kept apart from the computer.Each input uses a photocoupler and can be powered either from an internal isolated supply or from an external source, selected by jumper. The input port can alternatively draw power from the PC side through the onboard DC/DC converter. The output port requires external power, and each output is a Darlington transistor rated at 100 mA/+30 V per channel at 100% duty.Where two or more cards are installed in one computer, the Card ID switch lets software identify each board. Drivers are provided as a DLL and ActiveX control, with sample programs for Visual C++, Visual Basic, C#.NET and LabVIEW among other environments, for Linux, DOS and Windows.
