The PDS-742D is a programmable serial-to-Ethernet device server for bringing legacy RS-232 and RS-485 equipment onto an Ethernet network. Its built-in ports can be presented to a Windows PC as standard virtual COM ports, so existing serial software can continue to work with networked devices.
Beyond simple serial tunnelling, the unit runs the MiniOS7 operating system and can be programmed using the Xserver structure to build custom Ethernet applications. It also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, allowing Modbus TCP SCADA or HMI systems to poll Modbus RTU or ASCII slave devices. The LED display shows power status and a five-digit seven-segment readout.
Designed for industrial environments, the device offers a watchdog timer and ESD protection on its serial ports, with removable terminal blocks for wiring. It mounts on DIN-rail or wall and is rated for operation from -25 to +75 °C. A CA-0910 cable is included with this ordering code.
