The PDS-220FCS-60 CR extends RS-232 and RS-422/485 serial devices over a single-mode SC fibre link rated for 60 km. Fibre carries signals with lower loss and no crosstalk, and it is far less affected by electrical noise from motors, relays and welding equipment, so it suits runs where copper cabling is impractical.
Beyond the fibre uplink, the unit is a programmable device server built on the MiniOS7 platform, with a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway included. Virtual COM support extends COM ports, and the Virtual Utility supports 32 and 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016.
The unit is designed for DIN-rail installation with a fire-retardant plastic casing, an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C and a power input of +12 ~ 48 VDC with reverse polarity protection. Its watchdog timer and ESD protection on the serial port support use in harsh environments.
