LP-5231PM-4GC is a Linux-based programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor and 512 MB DDR3 SDRAM. It suits engineers who need a compact controller that runs their own application software on Linux while also sending field data over a cellular link.
The unit combines a 4G modem with four serial ports (RS-232 and RS-485, one of the RS-485 ports isolated at 2500 VDC), a single RJ-45 10/100/1000 Base-TX LAN port and a USB 2.0 host port. An optional XV-board can be fitted for additional I/O. The 4G module covers WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, FDD LTE and TDD LTE bands, and the ordering code sold here carries the frequency band for China. The GPS/GNSS receiver reports NMEA 0183 data across 32 channels.
Storage includes 512 MB flash and a microSD socket, with a 4 GB card supplied and support for microSDHC cards up to 32 GB. A 64-bit hardware serial number supports software copy protection, and dual watchdog timers and a real-time clock are included. Note that this variant supports China mobile networks only.
