I-97017Z is an analog input module for engineers who need to measure a mix of voltage and current signals on one RS-485 node. Each of its 10 differential or 20 single-ended channels can be assigned an individual input range, from millivolt-level ranges up to 10 VDC and 20 mA, with 0 ~ +20 mA and +4 ~ +20 mA options. Voltage and current input selection is made by jumper.
The module is built for harsh signal environments. Every channel tolerates 240 Vrms overvoltage in differential mode, and each analog input includes 50 mA overcurrent protection at 110 VDC/VAC. Per-channel open wire detection is provided for +4 ~ +20 mA inputs, and 3000 VDC intra-module isolation separates the field side from the rest of the circuit.
Sampling can be set to normal mode at 10 Hz total or fast mode at 50 Hz total, so the module can be matched to the response time the process requires. A 16-bit resolution, a module watchdog and a communication watchdog support reliable operation, with the module reporting over DCON on a single RS-485 port.
