The I-87211W-G CR adds GPS positioning and precise timing to ICP DAS PACs and remote I/O expansion units. It tracks 32 GPS channels and outputs position data in NMEA 0183 v3.01 format at 9600 bps over an RS-232 port, which can also be set to DCON protocol.
Beyond the GPS receiver, the module provides a PPS output for timekeeping and time measurement, and two extra digital outputs for general-purpose switching. The PPS signal is delivered as a 100 ms pulse each second by default and can serve as a time synchronisation source alongside other timing inputs in the system.
