The I-7188E5D is a programmable device server that brings four RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port onto an Ethernet network. Serial devices can be reached either through Virtual COM ports on a Windows host or through raw TCP connections, which suits both legacy PC software and custom network applications.
Its built-in MiniOS7 and Xserver programming structure let engineers build their own Ethernet logic on a compact, palm-sized unit. A watchdog timer supports operation in harsh environments, and the status LED display gives a quick visual check of the unit. The power input accepts non-regulated +10 VDC to +30 VDC and includes reverse polarity protection.
