I-7188E2D is a programmable Ethernet device server for bringing a serial device onto a network without rewriting its software. It provides one RS-232 port and one RS-485 port, so a PC application can keep using a standard COM port through the Virtual COM mode, or a host can connect over a raw TCP socket.
The unit runs the built-in MiniOS7 from ICP DAS, which is suited to applications where a small, dependable embedded controller is needed at the serial edge of the network. A watchdog timer and reverse polarity protection on the power input support installations where reliability matters. The removable on-board terminal block simplifies field wiring.
The I-7188E2D suits factory, building and home automation projects that need serial equipment on Ethernet. The VxComm driver is provided for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016.
