GW-2215i CR is a DIN-rail Modbus gateway that lets a Modbus TCP host reach serial Modbus RTU or ASCII devices across an Ethernet network, removing the cable length limits of legacy serial links. It can act as master or slave on both the TCP/UDP and the RTU/ASCII side, and it supports up to 32 TCP masters per serial port.
The built-in read cache stores recent requests and responses in the module's memory. When several SCADA or HMI masters poll the same slave, the cached reply is returned immediately, which reduces traffic on the serial bus and shortens TCP response times. Two Ethernet ports allow daisy-chaining, and the unit can be set to a static IP or DHCP through its web interface.
Power can come from a PoE switch (IEEE 802.3af, Class 1) or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block. The single RS-422/485 port is isolated, with 3000 VDC signal isolation, and the module operates from -25 ~ +75 °C. The ordering code GW-2215i CR is the RoHS-compliant variant listed in this shop.
