CAN-8223-G is a CANopen slave remote I/O unit that lets engineers add field I/O to a CANopen network by fitting plug-in modules into its two expansion slots. It follows CiA 301 v4.02 and CiA 401 v2.1, so it can be integrated with standard CANopen masters.
Each slot accepts digital input, digital output, analogue input or analogue output modules from the I-87K or I-8000 series, so the channel mix can be tailored to the application. Process data mapping and emergency messaging are supported, and the bundled utility generates an EDS file dynamically, based on CiA SP306, for compatibility with different CANopen master interfaces.
The unit has a built-in 120Ω terminal resistor, a 10 k to 1 M baud rate range and a Node ID range of 1 to 255. Its operating range of -25 to +75 °C and DIN-rail or wall mounting make it suitable for installation in demanding industrial enclosures.
