The uPAC-5001 CR is a programmable automation controller for bridging serial field devices onto Ethernet. It runs the MiniOS7 operating system and is programmed in C using the supplied software development tool kits, including Modbus libraries, so serial devices can be given Ethernet and Internet connectivity without custom communication stacks.
Connectivity covers one 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port, one RS-232 port and one RS-485 port, with serial speeds up to 115200 bps. Data can be exposed to SCADA packages over the standard Modbus protocol. Storage comprises 512 KB of flash, 16 KB of EEPROM and microSD expansion of up to 32 GB.
For local hardware expansion, the controller provides an I/O expansion bus for XW-board modules. Reliability features include redundant power inputs accepting +12 ~ 48 VDC, a built-in watchdog timer, a real-time clock and two programmable status LEDs. The unit is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation and mounts on a DIN rail.
