TPD-280-H CR is a compact touch HMI with a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 colour TFT display that replaces mechanical switches with intelligent, user-defined control pads. It fits a standard electrical wall-mount outlet and is intended for building and home automation, where a single RS-485 connection links it to controllers and I/O.
The unit runs on a 32-bit RISC CPU and can be powered from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block, drawing 1.5 W. Its RS-485 port includes Self-Tuner and supports Modbus RTU, while custom communication protocols can be written in C.
Programming is handled with the free HMIWorks tool. PLC engineers can use Ladder Designer, while programmers can work in the C language environment. The source notes that learning Ladder Designer takes no more than 30 minutes to create a first application program.
