RSM-405-R is a 5-port 10/100Base-TX industrial Ethernet switch built for redundant ring topologies. Its built-in Cyber-Ring technique allows several switches to be linked into a ring, and a copper link failure is typically detected and recovered within approximately 20 ms, which suits most applications without a visible interruption to the process.
Each RJ-45 port auto-negotiates between 10 and 100 Mbps and supports automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover, so cabling does not need to be matched to the device. Configuration is kept simple: after installation, one or two DIP or rotary switches set the redundancy mode and maximum recovery time, with no software setup required.
The unit accepts two DC supplies connected at the same time, so a failed input is covered by the other source. A relay output signals dual power or network link failures, and the metal casing and wide operating range of -40 ~ +75 °C make it suitable for demanding cabinet environments.
