The PROFI-5017 is a PROFIBUS DP-V0 slave remote I/O module that brings eight differential analog voltage inputs onto a PROFIBUS network. Input ranges of ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2.5 V and ±1.25 V with an accuracy of ±0.1 of FSR suit a range of signal levels, and each channel is isolated from the logic side at 2500 Vrms.
Integration is straightforward: the module is configured through its GSD file in any PROFIBUS configurator, and the station address (0 to 126) is set by rotary switches or an SSA telegram. The transmission rate is detected automatically across the listed baud rates, from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s.
Isolation and protection features include 3000 VDC DC-to-DC isolation, a high-speed iCoupler on the network side and 4 kV ESD protection on each terminal. The module is rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C and mounts on a DIN rail, with a power consumption of 3 W.
