PROFI-2541-SC CR converts PROFIBUS DP signals to multi-mode fibre optic cable, so a PROFIBUS segment can be extended over distance while the data path stays protected from electrical interference, surges and lightning. It suits plants where copper cabling is exposed to harsh conditions.
The converter detects the PROFIBUS transmission rate automatically, up to 3 Mbps, and passes traffic transparently in both directions. Up to 32 stations per PROFIBUS segment are supported. The fibre link uses 62.5/125 μm multi-mode cable at 850 nm, with a maximum length of 1.4 km (4593 ft) between two PROFI-2541 units.
Network isolation protection is included, and the PROFIBUS side is rated at 3000 VDC isolation protection. Status is shown by PWR, TxD and RxD LEDs. The unit mounts on a DIN-rail, operates from -25 ~ +75℃, and has a 1 W power consumption.
