The PCI-TMC12AU is a 3.3 V/5 V universal PCI board that combines twelve independent 16-bit timers/counters with 16 channels of 5 V/TTL digital input and 16 channels of 5 V/TTL digital output. It is a drop-in replacement for the PCI-TMC12A and works without changes to existing software or drivers, which makes it a practical choice when upgrading or maintaining a PC-based measurement or control system.
The timers/counters are built on four onboard 8254 chips. Two internal clock sources, 8 M/1.6 M and 0.8 M/80 K, are selected by jumper and provide a high-resolution reference for timing. Timers can be cascaded to form 32-bit or 48-bit counters, and the gate input can be driven from an external source or from the output of a previous timer/counter.
The board suits industrial and laboratory work where event timing and pulse measurement are needed alongside discrete I/O. Each timer/counter channel supports an external clock input and an output, and the card includes a CA-4002 D-Sub connector for field wiring.
