The I-7188XGD is a compact programmable automation controller that runs IEC 61131-3 logic through embedded ISaGRAF Ver.3 SoftLogic on a 40 MHz 80188 CPU under MiniOS7. It suits engineers who need serial device control and local logic in a small footprint on a DIN rail.
Two serial ports, RS-232/RS-485 and RS-485, support Modbus RTU/ASCII master and Modbus RTU slave operation, along with DCON and user-defined protocols. The I-7188XGD adds a 5-digit 7-segment LED display to the base I-7188XG, which is useful for showing status values on the unit itself. An X-Board expansion option can add COM ports, I/O or memory if the standard configuration is not enough.
Note that ISaGRAF cannot run on 64-bit Windows 7 or 8 PCs. Where that applies, Win-GRAF is the suitable development environment.
