The I-7017 is an RS-485 analog input module for engineers who need to acquire voltage or current signals across eight channels. Channels can be configured as eight differential inputs, or as six differential and two single-ended inputs, using a jumper. All channels share the same selected input range, and 4 ~ 20 mA inputs need an optional external 125 Ω resistor.
The module provides 16-bit resolution and a normal sampling mode of 10 Hz. Open wire detection for 4 ~ 20 mA inputs helps identify broken sensor wiring, and a built-in dual watchdog supports reliable operation in unattended systems. Intra-module isolation of 3000 VDC and ±120 VDC overvoltage protection add robustness on the input side.
This blue-cover version communicates over a single RS-485 port using the DCON protocol, with baud rates from 1200 to 115200 bps. It suits building, factory and machine automation, as well as remote maintenance, diagnosis and testing equipment.
