The I-7005 CR measures temperature from thermistor sensors and reports readings over RS-485 using the DCON protocol. Its eight input channels can each be configured separately for a different thermistor type, and the module supports a broad list of standard types as well as user-defined types, which are set up by entering Steinhart coefficients where required.
Six open-collector digital outputs (sink, NPN) let the module drive alarm signals directly when a monitored temperature needs attention. The thermistor inputs are protected by 3000 VDC intra-module isolation and 120 VDC overvoltage protection, and a built-in dual watchdog supports dependable unattended operation.
