EMP-9098-32 CR is a SoftPLC-based motion controller for multi-axis machines that need deterministic EtherCAT control with up to 32 axes. The integrated real-time EtherCAT master and motion engine run on a dedicated processor, so motion timing is kept separate from the Windows environment.
The controller runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise alongside the PLC runtime, so PLC logic, motion control and in-house or third-party Windows software such as HMI or data processing can operate together. Shared memory and programming interfaces give Windows applications direct access to PLC data. Motion function blocks follow PLCopen and CiA402, and the SoftPLC supports all five IEC 61131-3 languages.
- 32-axis motion control with a 0.5 ms cycle time, and up to 512 EtherCAT nodes
- Modbus TCP/RTU and OPC UA server for connection to higher-level systems
- Second CPU with EtherCAT communication retention, keeping EtherCAT running if the OS or a program crashes
- 8 digital inputs (sink/source) and 8 open-collector digital outputs, both isolated at 3000
- E3950 CPU with 8 GB DDR4 memory and dual watchdog timers
- Compact metal housing for DIN-rail or wall mounting, with redundant power inputs
