The uPAC-5001-FD is an Ethernet programmable automation controller built around an 80 MHz 80186 CPU and the MiniOS7 framework from ICP DAS. It suits engineers who need to bring RS-232 or RS-485 serial devices onto an Ethernet network and expose their data to SCADA packages through the standard Modbus protocol.
Application software is written in C using ICP DAS development toolkits, which include Modbus libraries. Storage comprises 512 KB flash, 16 KB EEPROM and 256 MB NAND flash, with microSD expansion of up to 32 GB. The unit also provides a 64-bit hardware serial number, a real-time clock, a watchdog timer and two programmable status LEDs.
An I/O expansion bus accepts XW-board modules for A/D, D/A, D/I, D/O and serial expansion. Power is taken from +12 ~ 48 VDC with redundant inputs, and the unit is rated for operation at -25 ~ +75 °C with DIN-rail mounting.
