PIO-D144U CR is a universal PCI card that gives a PC 144 TTL digital I/O lines. The lines are organised as eighteen bidirectional 8-bit ports, each grouped into Port A, Port B and Port C. All ports power up as inputs, so the board starts in a known, input-only state after power-on or reset.
The card emulates six or seven industrial-standard 8255 PPI ports in Mode 0, which helps when porting existing 8255-based software. Every I/O line is buffered on the board, and six connectors (one DB37 and five 50-pin box headers) are provided for field wiring. A Card ID switch allows software to identify this board when two or more boards are installed in the same computer.
Supported platforms include Linux, DOS and Windows, with a DLL and ActiveX control plus sample programs for several languages, including C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET and LabVIEW. The board draws 600 mA from +5 V and operates from 0 to +60°C.
