MDC-714 CR is a Modbus data concentrator that bridges serial Modbus devices to an Ethernet network. Its single Ethernet port acts as a Modbus TCP slave, while the RS-232 and four RS-485 ports can each operate as a Modbus RTU master or slave, so existing serial devices can be brought onto an Ethernet-based system without replacing them.
The unit polls the connected devices through a user-defined command table, reads their data port by port and merges it into a continuous address format. A host computer can then read or write the combined data in a single transaction, which reduces Ethernet traffic and simplifies system architecture. Write commands are queued with first priority to keep updates fast.
Configuration is handled through a simple CSV file, with an HTML5 web-based interface for importing and exporting settings and starting the system. The metal casing is designed for wall mounting and the unit operates from a +10 VDC to +30 VDC non-regulated supply across -25 to +75 °C.
