I-7188XBD-CAN-G CR is a programmable automation controller that bridges a CAN bus with serial devices and simple discrete I/O. It is built around an 80188 processor at 40 MHz with 512 KB of SRAM and 512 KB of Flash, and it runs the built-in MiniOS7 operating system, so application code can be written in C or C++.
The CAN port follows ISO-11898-2 and CAN 2.0A/2.0B, with a programmable transfer rate up to 1 Mbps and a jumper-selectable 120 Ω terminal resistor. It is photo-isolated at 2500 Vrms. Two COM ports (one RS-485/RS-232 shared port and one RS-485 port with a built-in self-tuner) allow mixed serial equipment to be connected alongside the CAN network.
A single digital input and a single open collector output provide basic discrete I/O, while the 7-segment LED display, three programmable status LEDs, real-time clock, NVRAM and EEPROM support local status indication and data retention. The unit is DIN-rail mounted, powered from +10 VDC to +30 VDC, and rated for operation from -25 to +75 °C.
