I-2533CS CR is a local CAN bridge that carries CAN bus signals over single-mode fibre, allowing two CAN networks to be joined across distances that copper cabling cannot cover. The link reaches up to 30 km at any CAN baud rate, so the reach of each bus segment is not reduced when the networks run at different speeds.
Each CAN network is isolated from the other, so a bus error on one side does not disrupt operation on the other. Both sides can run at different baud rates, and the bridge also supports user-defined baud rates. Fibre broken line detection and a utility tool for CAN message filter configuration help with commissioning and fault finding.
The unit mounts on DIN-rail and uses a removable terminal block for easy installation in control cabinets.
